January 15, 2016 is Wikipedia’s 15th birthday. Wiki Strategies is celebrating with 15 interviews with leading voices from a variety of perspectives. Here, I interview my friend Eugene Eric Kim, an independent consultant who works with groups doing good in the world, and helps them find more effective collaborative practices. In one of our more in-depth interviews (25 minutes!), Eugene reflects on how Wikipedia has embodied and carried forward the desire to use the Internet as a tool for working together; he also dives into the work he did in 2009-2010 to help the Wikimedia movement build a 5 year Strategic Plan in a uniquely inclusive way, about what worked and what didn’t work, and about the relevant lessons that could inform how Wikipedia moves into the future.
